More Hours does not equal More Success

David on the lifestyle business:

“It’s been a long time since there was a direct correlation with the number of hours you work and the success you enjoy. It’s an antiquated notion from the days of manual labour that has no bearing on the world today. When you’re building products or services, there’s a nonlinear connection between input and output. You can put in just a little and still get out a spectacular lot.”

  1. So agree! I just started re-reading The Power of Full Engagement which talks about how our limiting factor is really our energy, not our time… we can give something endless hours, but if we don’t have the proper energy to devote to it, it doesn’t mean a thing, and in fact we can wind up making things a lot worse.

On the other hand, of course, just a little bit of time with our full attention and energy and we can accomplish amazing things.
